This armazém (warehouse) bar is located in Vila Madalena but wouldn’t look out of place in New York. Featuring exposed bricks, low ceilings, rustic décor and a retractable roof (nice) this is where the hot young things of São Paulo come to play.

Pass shelves full of empty bottles as you enter and take time to admire the ceiling; it’s covered in light bulb shaped fairy lights wrapped around steel beams, it’s all very romantic. Hit this place for happy hour or on a Sunday for their wild (roof-down) parties.

There’s a huge selection of premium booze on offer at Piola, we went for a Margarita, it was perfectly made and went down a treat, as did the vodka Martini that followed. If you get peckish the pizza is pretty decent, wood-fired with thin crusts, it’s made just how BarChick likes it.
