Don’t get the wrong idea about why you can’t find any information on 28. Sure, there's an air of secrecy - no social media, and a very basic website. But it's not that it's too-cool-for-school. It’s just old-fashioned; a speakeasy bar harking back to the time when if you wanted a drink, you'd need to be in the know. It's pretty tough to find (no signage, just a single bulb above an ordinary door) and doesn't look that much from the outside. But once you get in - well. Let's just say quality is the world. And its rep as one of the world's best bars is done justice.
Get set for a diverse group of young hip working types and Singapore's old elite, that kinda old time cool we all aspire to be when we grow up. It provides that often rare mix of just enough hush for a date while the gentle hubbub stops it being awkward, and equally lends a bit of atmosphere if you’re here with friends. The drinks are served over the slick black marble bar, and come courtesy of award-winning mixologist (and 28 HongKong Street partner) Michael Callahan. The bartenders sure as hell know their stuff so don't even think about ordering a Bacardi and coke. Alongside the jazz & rock soundtrack, the inventive menu and the enticing booths, this place is 100% worth seeking out.
