Bitters and Love

Bitters and Love

BARCHICK SAYS

This ‘no menu’ cocktail bar has yet to let us down. First things first, you need to find it - it’s out the back of Shoebox Café, a 30+ seat restaurant famous for its slick as f*ck hamburger. Chow down one of those bad boys en route, and then head to Bitters & Love (they do good bar snacks anyway, if you can’t get into Shoebox).

This is a cosy little joint, with enough lighting to still see each other as well as good beats. If you enjoy a bit of banter, get involved midweek and position yourself over the bar - they're known to throw as much great chat as great cocktails. This place is responsible for some of the best bespoke cocktails in Singapore, and is known for their outstanding use of local flavours like kaya jam, pandan and jackfruit. Don’t know what they are? Just go with it.

Weekends tend to pick up a bit so, as with most venues, bring your best manners and be prepared to wait. It’s worth it though: lively and upbeat, it's a top choice to start your evening, or continue on through.
