It may be a little dated, but with no sentimental reason for attachment, BarChick keeps finding herself back here time and time again. Coffee Bar K, or CBK as it’s more often referred too, is a Japanese bar tucked beneath UE Square. Despite the lofty ceilings and seating space for 45, it still manages to feel intimate thanks to the very low lightening. This is our first date spot of choice.

The bar seats are comfy, the cocktail list extensive - heavy on the classics and well executed - and there’s a selection of bar snacks provided on arrival. If you’re pressed for space, head to the outdoor seating area where, despite the location, you’ll still feel worlds away from the hustle of Robertson Quay.
