March past the suits at the Marina Bay Financial Centre, take the lift up to the 33rd floor and you’ve found Asia’s take on a Bavarian beer hall. They may import hops from Germany, but don’t go thinking this is a kitsch bratwurst and beer maid kinda place. This is an urban craft brewery Singapore style, the copper brew house kettles take center stage and apart from that it looks like a bachelor’s dream penthouse – it’s super sexy.

Arrive before sunset to soak up that hazy glow over the marina whilst experimenting with their homebrew on the balcony. Beer lovers will struggle to choose from the massive menu of larger, pale ale, stout and wheat beer, but tastings are available for those who can’t. If you’re not a beer fan (what you doing here?), order the Blond Mojito, think larger, Havana Club, fresh strawberries and mint. Better than it sounds (kinda).

This place is packed out twice a day, six days a week, with the balcony very much the hotspot. We like the sleepy mid-afternoon session when they usually throw in a tour for first timers, after which you can play it by beer.
