Herlinger is named after a legendary café that stood on the same site in old Tel Aviv before Israel became a country. The café was an intellectual oasis for thinkers and philosophers (like BarChick), if you had an idea, here is where you’d air and share it.
Today, the bar has a retro design with dim lighting. It’s popular with the locals who kick back listening to Israeli rock music whilst sampling the tasty meat platters and menu accompanied by sane prices. BarChick enjoyed Herlinger’s home brewed organic wheat beer with a shot of whisky on the side.
Sunday is refill night with a second beer for 10 shekels and Mondays see a pool tournament (which BarChick loves kicking ass at), and Tuesdays are all about the live music, man.
Close to the beach, BarChick recommends a chilled day soaking up the sun, then heading to Herlinger to turn up the volume during happy hour from 16:00-20:00.
