Shishko is a Bulgarian bar and restaurant located behind the huge synagogue on Alenbi Street.

The bar boasts Bulgarian folk styles and is packed with anis drinks, which fuel the friendly, opinionated customers who walk through the Shishko gates. It’s a great place to spot celebs, writers and journalists, who regularly argue and debate until the barman hands over free shots of  Grozdova Rakia to calm everyone down, tactical.

This place isn’t cheap but it’s worth it, the vibe is great and you’ll be learning about another culture, right? A cracking Bulgarian night out.
