The Bar at The Merchant Hotel

The Bar at The Merchant Hotel

BARCHICK SAYS

Ascend up the large stone steps to the lavish entrance of this 5 star hotel, and you’re in for a treat. The Bar is situated to the right as you enter the hotel. You’ll be greeted by formal staff and the sound of a piano and a violin which together guide you into an architecturally beautiful room complete with antique Baccarat chandeliers, glam.

BarChick was given a plate of olives, some other light snacks and the award winning cocktail menu. Trust, it lives up to the hype, take your time with it. We went for a classic Sazerac, and coupled with the atmosphere and the surroundings, it might just have been the best ever. Looking for something slightly more unusual? Order The Phoenix, it’s a mix of poitín and locally pressed apple juice with a cinnamon kick and is damn refreshing, or if you’re packing plastic order the Mai Tai, it was the world’s most expensive drink a couple of years ago and is worth the cash baby.
