The Libertine

The Libertine

BARCHICK SAYS

What happens in the vaults, stays in the vaults

Beneath the beaut beast of a building that is London's Royal Exchange, there lies a maze of vaults where traders once met for a tipple after a hard day's work. Those vaults have made a comeback as The Libertine, a massive all-day drinking and dining space with room for a whopping 400 people.

Given its location, this place attracts more bankers than a sale on Patagonia gilets, but ya don't have to be a finance bro to pick up what it's putting down. The Libertine is all about next-level booze - after all, the venue was the first place in London to serve alcohol with a Royal Licence. The menu features local spirits, beers and wines, with a selection of high-end bottles from round the world. Cocktail-wise, expect well-made classics - on our visit, we got stuck into a Perfect Manhattan that hit the spot - as well as a few riffs. And the bit that's really got us jazzed? It's the whisky vault, which plays host to loads of epic whisky pairing experiences. F*ck yeah.

You're also wanna get involved with the food, which features good old-fashioned luxury in the form of Jersey oysters, a boujee AF lobster roll and a whole menu of dry-aged steaks and grande cuts. Solid drinks, bangin' dishes and loads of space for groups? That's your work do sorted.
