Cactus Club Cafe

BARCHICK SAYS

Cactus Club Café is the only building crowned with the rights to nestle in the Pacific Ocean sands of English Bay beach. With all day sun and an unrestricted view of the sunset, this location is hands down the best view in Vancouver. The atmosphere is warm and upscale; with floor-to-ceiling glass walls to let in the light and the stunning view. The staff are an army of beautiful girls and boys dressed in black – they’re professional, friendly and empowered to meet your every desire. Welcome to the ‘House of Yes’.

If it’s warm, sit on the big, uncovered outdoor patio to get the best view. The cocktails are good, particularly the Bellini and the beer is exclusive to Cactus Club, locally brewed and hand-crafted in small batches. The wine menu features only wines that have been made near natural water sources. BarChick tried the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and it is to die for. This place is a restaurant first (there’s also a concession, serving the beach), and the executive chef is local celebrity, Rob Feenie. His high quality, west coast fusion food is infallibly delicious and the ingredients are local and sustainably sourced wherever possible. Get there before sunset.
