WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

Edinburgh

WHERE DO YOU/HAVE YOU WORKED?

The Finnieston, Glasgow

FAVORITE BARS?

In Glasgow nothing beats the Finnieston, The Bon Vivant in Edinburgh and Worship Street Whistling Shop in London where I used to be head bartender.

FAVOURITE DRINK?

I love a Negroni but to be honest I'm never happier than I am with a pint of Guinness.

Bad ass barman/rock n roll moment?

I was once behind the bar busting out French Martinis for a couple of cougars, flirting away as one does.  I worked with my girlfriend at that time and she was standing on the pass waiting for some drinks when one of the ladies came up to her and gave her a number and told her to give it to me.  Me and my friend had been watching the scene unfold from the end of the bar and the look on my girlfriend's face made me feel pretty bad ass.

Ever done it on a bar?

Alas, no, but not for the want of trying.

What's next for you?

I'm studying for a Masters degree in Marketing and would love to use that in the drinks industry.

Best/worst chat up lines you've heard at a bar?

How do you like your eggs in the morning, poached, scrambled or fertilized kind of works on both levels I think.  Although you have to pity the poor girl who falls for that one.

Tell us a secret or something we don't know?

Refried beans are only fried once.

If you were to make a barchick cocktail, what would you put in it?

A drink I'm liking at the moment is the Artist's Special.  From the Savoy Cocktail Book, Hakush12, Palo Cortado Sherry, Lemon Juice and Redcurrant Syrup.  It's got a lovely mix of smokiness, sweetness and that almost salty tannic quality of Palo Cortado.

How do you like your Martini?

Generally a Gibson but I went to watch the new James Bond film with a plastic bottle full of Vesper, which was ace.

What did you want to be as a kid?

A snowboarder.
