Currently working at Hacha Agaveria in Dalston.

Tell us something about the industry we might not know!

Luxury tequila, mezcal and agave spirits will be the most popular spirit for cocktails within the next three years in London. Don’t ask me to name my source for this’s just an educated guess!

What is your favourite cocktail?

Is it wrong to say something I’ve created? If you can allow me to be self indulgent then I would say the Mirror Margarita we serve at Hacha. Other than that, I would say a well made Toreador.  

Ever had a bad-ass/rock 'n' roll bartending moment?

I once made cocktails for a princess (obviously I can’t say who) at her birthday party and it’s fair to say she really enjoyed the cocktails I made for her. Later in the night she came  back to me a little tipsy and I noticed she was walking with a little limp as she got closer to me, she then looked at me and said, "Deano, you haven’t seen my shoe anywhere, have you?"

"No, I’m so sorry princess....I haven’t." I started thinking if I find that shoe, could this be my moment like in Cinderella...? It wasn’t! It was, however, the best party I ever worked at. 

Where will we find you on your nights off?

You will find me with my fiancé and business partner, Emma Murphy, on the sofa watching Netflix.

If you weren’t tending bar, what would you be doing?

I would be winning in Formula 1 or playing football at Villa Park for Aston Villa.

What is your desert island bottle?

A little genie that pops out for a chat every now and again to keep me company while we sip on fresh coconut water. 

What is your hangover cure?

Homemade smoothie of hazelnut milk, spinach, pear and oats. Never fails.

If you were gonna create a cocktail for BarChick, what would you make?

I’d make a Champagne Cocktail using Don Julio Real and Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut Gold Champagne.
