Jack Wareing

Who are you?

Hey team! I’m Jack and I’ve got a secret fossil collection.

Where do you work and what do you do?

I’m the brand ambassador for the Scottish Porter’s gin and Glasshouse whisky, you’ll usually find me stomping the streets of London. Porter’s is an Aberdeen brand, so you might catch me in The Granite City from time to time.

What’s the best thing about your job?

It’s definitely the familiar aspect of the hospitality industry, wherever you go in the world, you always have brothers and sisters running bars who are willing to help you out; whether it’s crashing on a friend’s sofa or recommending a killer place to drink or where to get the best seafood. It’s the ultimate concierge.

You can teleport to any bar in the world, where are you going?

Gimme a wee Tokyo stand bar any day. Stripped of pretentiousness, as close as physically possible to the bar & more whisky than you can drink. Failing that I’d take an old British countryside pub with wet dogs, crackling fires, rosy-cheeked pub songs and generic European lagers - warm beer optional.

You’re at the bar ordering a drink – who in the drinks biz do you want rocking up next to you?

Matt Uden, Nathan Shearer & Alex Lawrence. Every. Single. Time.

What is your desert island bottle?

Ribena all day. But I don’t think that’s quite in the spirit of the question so I’ll have to say Glendronach 15, suitable for any occasion & super chinnable. Failing that - I’ll take a bottomless mixed case of M&S cocktails in a can.

What is your hangover cure?

A bloody mary, a black coffee that's hotter than the sun, a skooshy pint of coke and a sausage bap. Then a nice lie down in a darkened room with a rub down and a nice shiatsu
