I’m the marketing manager for Hi-Spirits, a UK alcohol distribution company. Aka, I work with brands such as; Brooklyn Gin, RedLeg Rum and the Fernet-Branca range delivering them into the UK market, building the brands and driving activation on the on and off-trade.
The industry, the innovation, the people. Having an idea, or giving those with an idea the ability to execute it, exploring creativity and driving results, in both people and brands.
If I’m going to a new bar in the UK; Blue Rooms, Dundee or Volpi, Liverpool.
If I’m going to a bar already open in the UK; The Sun Tavern for the everyday, or if we’re feeling fancy then Beaufort Bar, Savoy. If it were still 2015, the Portobello Star.
Outside of the UK; The Cotton Mouth Club, Texas. Alibi, New Orelans for sweaty times and warm drinks. Anywhere in the sunshine, overlooking the sea with a decent drink and plausible company, or on a boat, I love a boat.
New cities, neighbourhood bars, and experiencing new things are always a favourite. So, anywhere new. Otherwise, there is a lot of exciting things happening in Scotland, especially Dundee. Otherwise, I’ll always have a special space for London, Austin and New York.
Good food, good people, delicious drinks and without a curfew or anything to do the next day.
Ian Melville; somebody you’re guaranteed a good night, where ever you are in the world. With little resource.
I mean, you need a few to cover all occasions; Thomas H Handy, 2014. Fernet-Branca, Borghetti, Scapegrace Gin. Buffalo Trace. – That’s probably more than a few…
