Barcelona

Things we love:

We love the fact that drinking in the sun followed by a siesta in the afternoon is not seen as lazy (or just for alcoholics).

Barcelona is like a Mecca for skateboarders, and some pretty hot ones as well.

They make mean tapas and Cava is the new Champagne.

They love a decent mullet, sexy on those Spaniards.

Their Menu Del Dia is a bargain; starter, main, dessert and a glass of booze/tea/coffee for around a tenner!

Things we wish we’d known:

It’s actually safer to walk than drive in Barcelona, with accidents occurring every 19 seconds. Definitely stagger home, your sober cab driver could land you in a lot more trouble.

People don’t necessarily speak English or even Spanish! Catalan is a whole different ball game.

They’ve got a travel card which you can pass back. Our kinda Oyster card.
