If anyone’s a fan of mixing things up, it’s Mr Lyan. So no one batted an eyelid when he announced he was gonna close up Hoxton’s basement bar and haul ass across to Amsterdam. The result? A fresh, funky and quite frankly fit bar that totally reflects chilled Dutch culture.

There are three distinct areas - the bar, the lounge and the garden. The design channels playful fifties optimism and it’s sure got us feeling positive. In the morning you’ll find BarChick hanging in the sunlit Super Lyan Garden, blinking away the night with a Lyan Mary and a bacon bao. When afternoon arrives it’s all about vegan donuts and Hardshakes in the colour-popping Super Lyan lounge. And nighttime finds us perched at the Super Lyan bar, sipping one of those Frozen Margaritas in the glow of pink-neon. FYI this makes one killer date spot - get there in time to bag a red-leather booth and get canoodling in the shadows.

Food has just as much focus as the drinks - that’s the Dutch way, baby. Deep fried mayonnaise sounds bonkers but is all kinds of delicious naughtiness. The iconic Magic Cheese and Chocolate + Chips that bent minds in White Lyan are back. And if you’ve never had a stroopwafel then what the hell? Now’s your chance. 

One more thing - prepare to fall in love with Robin. He’s there fluffy Maine Coone bar cat. Yes, we said bar cat. He’s a babe are you’re likely to want to take him home. Just one more reason why Super Lyan is ‘dam fine.
