Inconspicuous amongst kebab shops and tourist traps on Ramblas del Raval Madame Jasmine’s alluring call can be heard by those looking for somewhere cozy and a little bit naughty to booze it up. Hot boys are everywhere, behind the bar and in front of it, it’s the kind of place BarChick likes to rock up to dateless.
Fairground lights are an inviting arch around the door and the colourful pop-art on the walls give this place an air of playfulness whilst the menu scribbled above keep it a bit rough around the edges. Out the back you’ll find a tribute to all things bizarre; the leg of a manikin in stilettos, film posters, leopard print and a fortune telling booth are just small examples. Check out the tranny Barbie dolls on the toilet doors, confusing to say the least.
When it comes to booze the cocktail list is basic yet effective but it’s the tea menu that really took us by surprise, a whole host of hot drinks await you here and BarChick chased her Bloody Mary with a delightful cup of Chai; if that’s not class then we don’t know what is.
