Pesca Salada

Spain has the biggest gin market in Europe and in the heart of the madcap Raval there is a place where gin definitely rules. The 'Salted Fish' (named because of its previous incarnation as a fish shop) is a big as a fishbowl and so are the glasses, we’re not complaining. Jules Verne could have decked this place out; scaly fish adorn the ceiling and bar, Poseidon is on the wall and the montaditos are, you guessed it, fish. Aside from all this fishy fun they are serious about the gin.

Sure they have other drinks, but there are 50 different types of gin (and many tonics) and a four page menu devoted to different gin and tonic combinations, when in Rome right. Why would you drink anything else when you can indulge yourself in some of the best G&Ts Barchico has ever had. The Blue Riband is incredibly refreshing with a slice of lime and Jamaican peppercorns. Gin not usually being a chupito of choice, The Haymans 1820 gin liqueur is also well worth diving into.
