As the only casino in the region, Casion du Liban doesn't really need much selling if gambling is your thing. There is literally nowhere else to go and there's something very James Bond about gambling at a casino in the Middle East. Yet, even if you're not one for a game of chance, Casino du Liban is pretty cool. Just north of Beirut, in Jounieh, it has to be one of the most spectacularly positioned casinos in the world, sitting in an alcove above the Mediterranean with views across the bay to the capital city lighting up the night sky. It's slightly run down and on the tacky side but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the best Vegas traditions, drinks are free if you're playing which, while sounds great, can be very dangerous if you're an overconfident drunk! Yet, Casino du Liban is worth going just for the setting alone and a visit to Beirut isn't complete without at least a little flutter on red or black now is it?
