Down the road from Maguy's, Jammal's loses out to its neighbour in terms of craziness but more than makes up for it in serenity. Set in its own stunningly beautiful bay, with a lone fisherman usually stationed in the distance picturesquely casting his rod, the seafood is wonderful and the drinks keep on flowing, dreamy. Along with local wines and arak, they also have an extensive cocktail menu and some of the friendliest service around.
During the summer months, the weekends find Jammal's rammed and tables are in such high demand that some of them are actually in the cooling waters of the Mediterranean. BarChick (while dangling her toes in the water) started on cocktails, tucked into some vino with her delicious fish and then dived off and went exploring the surrounding caverns… pretty unforgettable afternoon.
