BARCHICK SAYS

Head on through the hidden courtyard on Potsdamer Strasse, we’re taking a trip to sun-drenched Panama. This bright, breezy and relaxed restaurant is bringing all the tropical Latin America vibes. Think cactus plants, bamboo, splashes of yellow, and dazzling white-washed walls. There are some awesome pieces of art - this is Berlin, baby - such as the neon bones on the wall and a sick chandelier made from vintage lights by artist Björn Dahlem. Uber cool.

These aren’t the only works of art - the menu is a masterpiece. The idea is to use local ingredients to make exotic dishes. Raw ingredients let the flavours shine - they nail ceviche and beef tartare. The Panama empanadas are also not to missed.

Naturally we started the night kicking back at the bar and soaking up the ambience. Cocktails are damn creative, with plenty of botanical influences. Rosemary shrub, sage, green peppercorn and green curry leaf all made an appearance. Afterwards, head into the restaurant. There’s also a killer wine list focusing on terroir wines from
Germany and Europe. Panama is vibrant, welcoming, and trendy - everything we love about Berlin, then.
