Tucked away behind a mobile burrito van on Market Street, this cosy little gem covers all your needs in one space; an artisan coffee shop, a quirky boutique and a motorbike workshop by day (don’t tell us you don’t need that…), but by night it transforms into a crafted cocktail bar full of the same hot biker types and like-minded folk with a keen ear for live music.
The drinks are in a league of their own with a weekly changing menu of five classics and the chops to surprise you with their own concoctions. We liked the house Old Fashioned served with maple syrup and Fernet-Branca. There’s not an elaborate garnish or fancy glass in sight, though they’re serious about their ice programme. They have an amazing collection of imported whisky, some interesting rum and gin choices, and four barrels aging cocktails behind the bar.
The vibe is super laidback. You’re immediately welcomed by friendly faces and even friendlier bartenders. Just don’t step out of line or they may have to put that baseball bat on display behind the bar to good use.
