Dolce Vita

BARCHICK SAYS

Looking for strong cocktails my friend? Then make your way to Dolce Vita. Located on the south side of the river away from the main tourist centre, you’ll need to strap on your walking shoes or take a taxi, and then get your map freak on to hunt down this buzzing spot. Enjoyed by local Florentines and visitors alike, it boasts a Bohemian style complimented by cool modern vibes.

Begin your night with something ‘alternative’, invented by the bartenders here. BarChick discovered the delights of a Pompiwi (vodka, grapefruit and kiwi) and a Surubao (vodka, cranberries, raspberries, blackberries, sugar and lime) among many others, served with a bowl of popcorn (dinner sorted). Spaced over three uniquely decorated rooms (the gold leaf paint is our fave), but you’ll find BarChick jamming out on the terrace. Check the rad collection of photography and art on every wall, which is changed every 15 to 30 days, and for a bar that’s been open since 1985 that’s a lot of art.

This is the perfect pre-lash drinking spot; do it like an Italian and head down between 7.30 and 10.30pm for aperitivo, pre-dinner booze and snacks.
