Bramble we salute you for two things, 1. making Edinburgh pretty damn unforgettable (or more forgettable) and 2. those drinks, genius. When these guys say speakeasy, they mean it, we found ourselves loitering on a dark street corner listening out for tell-tale music signs (seedy).
Look out for some AstroTurf grass and lights coming from a basement, and head down the stairs… and phewf - welcome to Bramble. It’s proper cool down here (so don’t go advertising you’ve arrived), exposed bricks poke through white painted walls and dull lighting gives it a worn in feel.

Sit at the bar and watch these guys in action. All manner of things go into the creations and they don’t give a damn about hiding the ingredients, so expect to see anything from Ribena to yoghurt and cream being slammed on the bar. We drank… a lot. The Mint 500 was serious, with Hendrick's Gin, elderflower cordial, apple and lime juice, mint basil, Fee Brothers peach bitters and vanilla sugar. If you’re a tequila lover drink the Lazarus Lane with Tapatio Blanco Tequila, blackberry and rosemary shrub, ginger extract and vanilla sugar, it was damn good. Oh and don’t neglect the Miss Muffet, served in a teacup.

The drinks are a real labour of love down here and we can guarantee you won’t want to leave. Yes Bramble.
