Hostal Cuba

Hostal Cuba

BARCHICK SAYS

Cuba is set in an old Colonial building, which has been kicking around since 1904. It once was the sort of bar Bukowski would have boozed in, and even after this dusty, drinking den’s massive makeover, it’s kept a hint of its former illicit edge, which is why we like it.

Cuba’s top floor has everything you would expect from a sky bar, it’s sleek and stylish with a mega view over the bay, the boats and the palm-tree lined boulevard. Lean over the edge while you're still sober enough, before hitting the lengthy by the glass wine list.

Chats are kept low and the crowd like to play it posh, making it a first drink kinda venue before you head out to find some debauchery. The ground floor bar has a chilled terrace, where you can watch the action outside, or hit the club in the basement. Yep, while you thought you were all classy upstairs, but by the time you leave this place it’ll be a whole different ball game.
