We knew this bonkers furniture shop would be entertaining when we saw the life-sized, plastic cows outside. Stylish and upmarket, Sluiz offers kitsch, arty, fresh furnishings for your home, as well as books, fashion and other odds and sods. If BarChick had the cash we’d kit our whole place out from here fo sho. These guys make particularly good use of the garden space where they’ve built a pretty little bar… now we’re talking.
Enter the courtyard through the back of the store, the square bar in the middle of the space is a bit of a feature and tables are haphazardly scattered around it. Chandeliers are made from disheveled Barbie dolls and plants climb the pillars supporting the makeshift roof. If you’re looking to refuel after a marathon furniture shopping sesh then there’s a nice selection of nibbles including Manchego cheese and toasted sandwiches, yum.
When it comes to drinking on the job you’ll be impressed by the extensive back-bar plus the fresh juice menu for those who’re avoiding booze. Down a few glasses of Cava and return to your shopping with a whole new outlook, don’t forget to keep hold of your receipts.
