BarChick only discovered this gem at the end of the summer and we don’t want you to make the same mistake. Tucked away in the old town, on one of those tiny streets that sells wicked tourist tack (there’s a particularly good jewellery shop opposite) you’ll find Swami. Look up - overgrowth climbs the walls all the way to the fifth floor on both sides of this little backstreet and it’s, like, real pretty.

The guys at Swami have made bloody good use of the outdoor space: there are high stools and tables on both sides of the street, with just enough space to let passers-by through. Inside it looks like a cave, it’s dark and cushioned and perfect if you need a little quiet time. Our favourite spot here is romantic balcony for two on the first floor (there’s not much else up there apart from some decks, the toilets and an old chesterfield.) One of BarChick’s lovers brought her here after a big night out. The combination of stretching views of the Old Town accompanied by the beauty of a clear night's sky had her weak at the knees, oh boy.

Cocktails aren’t really their thang, unless you like 'em sweet and juicy. Go old school and stick to mixers, draught, or our favourite: a bottle of chilled house red, refreshing and sociable. Win.
