Crack out the cigars . The Churchill Bar & Terrace can be found around the back of Selfridges. As hotel bars go, this one's a beaut. It's elegant and refined - think cosy sofas and snug armchairs. Inside you’ll find luxe art deco décor; bookshelves curated by Daunt Books and original photographs and love letters between Sir Winston Churchill & his beloved Clementine adorning the walls. A good spot to set the mood for a date.
If you have the choice, the terrace is where you want to plonk yourself. The vibe reflects the mood of the season; from May to September it's like a colourful oasis of seasonal flowers, while for the other half of the year it's a snug, winter hideaway where you can cosy up beside the life-size bronze of a young Churchill. Wrap yourself up in a fur blanket, it's time to hit the whisky.
The cocktail menu, led by Head Bartender, Daniele Bresciani, features classic and creative Scotch whisky concoctions. There are other spirits too, but trust us - you're here for the whisky. In cocktails or sipping neat you won't be disappointed. And then there's the food. BarChick feasted on Dressed Devon Crab on White Toast; Potato and Black truffle Croquette; Duck Foie Gras Dome with Confit Orange on White Toast - f*ck yeah.
