The stony-faced grey-suited intersection of Bank isn't usually a BarChick vibe, but around the corner in Angel Court is where all the colour has been hiding. COYA is all vibrancy & Latin American exoticism, complete with a bright and colourful Pisco bar and lounge. No prizes for guessing the speciality here; it's all about their bespoke pisco infusions and they are EPIC. That's where you'll find BarChick, perched at the ornately chiselled bar with its marble top in front of the bronzed and electric blue shelves lit up with over 40 tequilas and an extensive rum collection.
And the Pisco Sours here are the bomb. With a thick and super smooth head and a lip puckering sourness, get ready for your saliva glands to go nuts over this Latin serve. And they've not just stuck with tradition. We suggest you go off-piste and order one of their flavoured piscos. The Kumquat & Mandarin infusion is our jam, and the Mango & Chilli is tropical and punchy; like Mike Tyson in a Hawaiian shirt.
Flavour comes in the bucket load and the food menu here is a full-on journey across Latin America and Asia, without the tedious border crossings. The main focus is Peru, but don't be surprised when you find Japanese, Chinese and Argentinian influences. This is food without borders. Colourful bowls of acidic and cheek sucking tuna ceviche will get you started before juicy Mexican-inspired Salmon, avocado, ají amarillo tacos come to blow your mind. Bao fans need to order the slow cooked pulled pork, chipotle, salsa and criolla buns with it's sweet, rich and tender filling, but our hot dish pick is the Chilean sea bass, rice, lime, chilli iron pot with its creamy and gentle freshness. If you have room at the end (which you do) you're going to order the Churros, complete with a moat of rich, oozing chocolate sauce. Double dipping always encouraged.
