Deli Cat & Sons

BARCHICK SAYS

Deli-cious

You might not think that the City of London with its high concentration of grey suits, tall buildings and Pret a Mangers is where you'll find a kick-ass deli offering up epic artisan produce, but if the 2020 pandemic has taught us anything, it's to expect the unexpected.

Chilling on the banks of the Thames with some of the best views of the Southbank is where you'll find Deli Cat & Sons. Say it quick. D'ya get it? This riverside all-day grocer opened just a few weeks before lockdown (unlucky timing), but now they're back at it, offering up banging coffee, fresh pastries, awesome cocktails, and quality produce all sourced from regional farmers and artisan producers. Deli-cious.

Swap out your limp lunch meal deal for one of their fresh, crisp salads, flavour-packed tartines or thick sourdough sandwiches; or if you wanna enjoy golden hour by the river, this is a solid light supper spot. Order in their cheese and charcuterie boards (designed to share, but good enough to hog to yourself) and hydrate with a few cocktails. They're all available short or long (topped with Prosecco) and make for the perfect sundowners. Don't forget to grab an ice cream to go when you're done. The pistachio pairs perfectly with a walk over the Millenium Bridge, FYI.
