Dodge at Somerset House

BARCHICK SAYS

Fancy bumping into you here!

Strap in, kids, cos The Somerset House courtyard is taking ya to the fairground with a playful and imaginative open-air pop-up experience that's gonna turbocharge your plans this Summer.

The walled space in the centre of this river-side landmark has been reimagined by Yinka Ilori. This guy is an artistic boss when it comes to design; think you've nailed furniture up-cycling over lockdown? You've got nothing on this guy. He's transformed the space into a provocative, colourful spectacle, featuring epic interactive installations from artists, and food experiences from Jimmy's Pop Up, including specially designed dining packages that'll level up your experience. The Bumper Summer Feast (think picnic basket gone wild), Sundae Funday (killer Build Your Own ice-creams + Espresso Martinis) and Bump & Brunch packages (ALL the waffles with a DJ soundtrack) each include a ticket to ride the dodgems... though these ain't any ordinary bumper cars, gang.

This new interactive artwork by Anna Meredith has reinvented the fairground ride into a high-octane sensory experience. WTF does that mean? As you race your bumper car around the track, each bump, scratch and jolt will generate a unique audio-visual composition that'll create an epic and explosive three-minute sonic display across the courtyard. Bad drivers, this is your time to shine. BOOM.

Dodge kicks off on 15th July until 22nd August. Packages and dining pods can be bought and reserved for groups of 2-6.

Dodge Lates series (including live DJ sets) will take place on Thursday & Friday nights, while Brunch & Bump packages run on Saturday and Sunday mornings/early afternoons.
