Deli by day, pure romance by night

Versatility: it's a trait that never fails to impress (probs why we're such big fans of Meryl Streep. And combination washer-dryers). Lulu's gets it. This cosy spot is bringing day-to-night vibes to Herne Hill, serving up coffees, gorgeous baked goods, sandwiches and provisions in the morning and afternoon before transforming to a buzzy wine bar in the evening.

It's a small, intimate space, so come with someone you wanna cosy up with and get stuck in to the constantly changing menu of seasonal small plates and wines. The food is the work of acclaimed chef Lasse Petersen, who also runs the kitchen next door at Lulu's big sis restaurant Llewellyn's, and it's all super-fresh, thoughtful and fun. Meanwhile, the wines come from all over the map, from Beaujolais to Slovenia, so ask for a rec and sip away. Feelin' a cocktail vibe? They've also got a tidy list of mixed drinks that go down nicely. Oh, and if you're in the market for boujee olive oil or artisanal dried pasta, browse the shelves before you leave. Versatility never tasted so good, baby.
