Rondo at The Hoxton Hotel

BARCHICK SAYS

Come for the food, stay for the wine.

When a restaurant is located in the uber-stylish The Hoxton hotel then you know it's something to get excited about. Rondo is bringing relaxed, fun neighbourhood vibes with a focus on seriously epic dishes & a wine list to die for.

Heading up the kitchen at Rondo is Chris Gillard – previously at meaty-mecca St John for 15 years – whose menus make the most of seasonal produce and unsung heroes in pared-back, punchy dishes. A bone marrow toastie is a wink to his St John days, while grey mullet cooked on the charcoal grill shows his passion for lesser-used produce.

Come for the food, stay for the wine, is what we say. Don't believe us? Just check out the huge wine wall at the end of the restaurant. It's the centrepiece of the room, with bottles stacked high on wooden shelves, and gleaming chrome taps which dispense Rondo’s house wines from kegs. Told ya.

The ambitious wine list features some of Europe’s most exciting winemakers & is divided into Summer Juice, Continental Wine Bar and Food-Friendly. If you wanna drop some dollar then check out the Reserve List of 40 very special wines going from £55 to £190. Rondo has a wicked snack selection for grazing alongside a chilled glass of vino - think crisp aubergine tempura with a harissa dipping sauce and pork & duck rillettes. Whoof. We'll see ya there.
