Get ready meatheads, this is insane – one of London’s hottest barbecue chefs is behind this fire pit BBQ restaurant in Soho. Neil Rankin (from Pitt Cue Co and Smokehouse fame) is a badass on the coals. In the dining room he’s set up a 6m long central fire pit (the longest we can think of, er, anywhere) and is serving up fire cooked cuts of meat, which you get by the 100g. In fact, it's so damn popular, Temper Covent Garden and Temper City are now bringing serious meat sweats to the masses.
As expected, the meat is juicy and cooked to perfection, BarChick is all over the aged beef skewers and the 500g of T-Bone. Hell yeah. And don’t forget the killer tacos and side dishes either – loving the burrata with lime, jalapeno, and the smacked cucumber. Ooh er.
The wine at Temper is also a big deal, with New and Old World list carefully picked to match the meaty menu. But it's the tequila and mezcal BarChick is here for. Despite the badass fire pit, they’ve totally nailed the venting system and it’s super airy with no heavy meat smell hanging in the air.
