Platea Madrid

Platea Madrid

BARCHICK SAYS

What’s better than a bar? Answer: three bars under one roof, alongside a tons of gourmet food counters in the fanciest food court Madrid has ever seen. Forget the mall, this former grand old cinema boasts six Michelin stars.

This is a serious onslaught of luxury – think gold, and lots of it. They’ve got the drinks selection covered too, from steins of Agua de Valencia (the Spanish cocktail of Champagne, orange juice, vodka and gin) on the ground floor at the fun El Foso, to impressive twists on classics from two of the best mixologists in town, Diego Cabrera and Luca Anastasio, at El Palco on floor two. With incredible panoramic views of the stage, this is where you’ll find BarChick propping up the bar with her favourite, a Scottish Marmalade, or trying to sneak into the secret smoking club hidden on the floor above.

Peckish? Dig into the huge array of tapas on offer from octopus to pizza. Not content with sitting back? The stage hosts live music, aerial dance shows, and movies on giant screens – all completely free. You'll find plenty of upmarket Salamanca shoppers in here giving their Amex a rest, and us with a cocktail in hand.
