When Transit, the bar that formerly occupied the Blackbird space closed down, all the late-night board game playing scenester drunks in town shed a collective tear. But then, something kind of magical happened; Blackbird Ordinary opened and it was a nicer, cleaner, hipper version of the beloved Transit Lounge.

Between the dark ambiance, plentiful leather booths and craft cocktails, this Downtown spot is a reliable go-to. Blackbird Ordinary can get really packed on a weekend night, and hosts regular specials and events including live music in the large backyard outdoor space. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see a representative from every table in high school; you’re equally as likely to run into a suit coming from the nearby financial hub as you are a rag-tag crew of tatted hipsters.

Whether you’re going for a solid well-made drink, a brew or a craft cocktail – they won’t judge. But, if you’re smart, you’ll go with the latter. What’s not to like about a place with a high-end shots menu and a bunch of Jenga sets?
