We’ve all sat around and had that drunken chat with our mates - “what if we opened a neighbourhood wine bar and restaurant together?” Well, three badass ballers actually did it, and the results are epic. Behold Peckham Cellars from the trio of friends Luke (front of house legend), Helen (bossing it in the kitchen) and Ben (wine buff extraordinaire). Their aim was to create a cool, casual and top quality hang-out spot in Peckham and by god they’ve done it.

On one hand, the name is there to guide you. This place is all about the wine, baby. On the other hand, it’s a bit misleading as they aren’t actual cellars. Instead, the 80+ varieties of wine are mostly displayed along the walls. Want something unusual? You’ve come to the right place. From Slovenia to Tenerife, these guys are showcasing some awesome and unique grapes. They also have a rotating 'special' wine, usually from some sorta quirky producer. They buy two boxes, and when it's gone it's gone. Boom. Make sure you come hungry cos the food is just as impressive. Marmite dauphines, farmed eel with nduja, guinea fowl with tahini... there was not a dud dish on the menu. What’s more, the space is everything you could want from a local hangout. Cosy yet bright, with tons of natural wood and plant life. Screw opening our own, we’re just gonna hang out here from now on.
