The Perry Hill Pub

BARCHICK SAYS

There probably couldn't be a better time to open a pub with a 250 capacity beer garden, right?

This neighbourhood pub sandwiched between Catford and Sydenham had its doors closed for two years before the fella behind The Florence in Herne Hill and the multi-site Franco Manca got his hands on it. He's worked his magic, brought the best bits from his years of running pubs around London, and put 'em all into The Perry Hill. Now South East London has an epic new local, and we're into it, baby.

You don't have to be sat at one of the many tables in the 250 capacity garden for long to notice that this ain't the owner's first rodeo. He's brought Jamie Younger, owner of The Begging Bowl in Peckham, to run the kitchen, who's lined up a sick menu of meats all brought to their full potential in the onsite smokehouse. The juicy beef brisket blew BarChick's mind, but heads up: you'll wanna make sure you've got room for the ice cream & jam doughnut sandwich with its brûléed sugar top. That sh*t is next level.

Wash it all down with a few pints from the varied beer list of rotating specials, or go baller and order a magnum of wine for the table. Then all ya gotta do is pray for a long hot Summer so you can bunk down for a season-long alfresco sesh with your crew. Don't worry if the weather doesn't play ball though, honey - they'll be opening their indoor saloon bar and lounge area on May 17th for a rain-free boozing option.
