Raouls

BARCHICK SAYS

This retro haven produces some of the best cocktails in town, so if you’re in Oxford then you have got to swing by. It’s retro cool in here, dress for the swinging 60s if you dare (it’s not actually encouraged though). Everything is kinda curvy, retro, bright and chrome, and the music selection is full of nostalgic talent.

Take mates or a lover and snuggle up on the black leather sofas, but if you’re anything like us, sit at the bar so you can watch the masters in action, they really impressed us with their liquid offerings. The bright yellow back bar has a whole load of bottles that really got us excited: new bottles, old bottles and bizarre ones too. The House Navy Grog was damn good, as was the Wham Bar Collins, made with an actual Wham Bar, that’s old skool genius right there. The menu is large and varied, take your time or ask them for some guidance, they’ll nail it either way. They also do food snacks too if you’re peckish/intend on trying a large proportion of the drinks.

There are DJs Friday and Saturday night, the crowd is a sort of 25 plus bag, don’t go expecting too many students because you thankfully won’t find any £1 Jager shot nights in here.
