You’d hope a bar named Science and Industry would at least have some sorta laboratory element. Well GUESS WHAT IT DOES! The first-floor bar of Cane and Grain has been turned into a dedicated cocktail den focusing on cutting-edge creations and molecular mixology. Time to channel your inner mad scientist, yo.

The cocktail list has been concocted by drinks maverick Massimo Zitti, who’s not afraid to get a little crazy. Listen up for buzzwords like distillation, filtration and crystallisation. Oh, and check the edible perfumes. They spray these onto the rims of the glasses FYI. Scent-sational.

Don’t expect a room that reminds you of your school chemistry class, though, and there'll be no drawing d*cks on the desks. Science and Industry have gone for custom-made studded brown banquettes, ornate lighting and some dramatic wallpaper featuring the famous Manchester Bee. So you can drink up your potions in a space that feels more member’s club than research lab. Oh, and look out for the squirrels. 

Science and Industry are also bringing the good times with regular live music nights. There’s a focus on the blues, so get ready to get soulful with your scientific concoctions. White coats kinda cool but not mandatory.
