The Diglis Hotel

BARCHICK SAYS

Family owned this Georgian listed building is one of Worcester’s hidden gems. All quaint and adorable with dashing views of the River Severn, it’s a bit of a heart warmer. First and foremost the Diglis is a hotel but BarChick loves to rock up and get p*ssed with the swans that patrol the huge beer garden out front, it truly is a picture.

The miniscule bar on the way in sells ales and beers… and wine on tap, which may seem bizarre but we got over it after the third glass. If you can’t hack the fresh breeze of an English afternoon then opt for the conservatory, where you’ll have sheets of double-glazing to shield you from the great outdoors, lovely.

Getting involved with the food here is a wise move, it’s homey and inexpensive. Should you begin to feel a little whimsical about your hot date then why not take the party upstairs? Rooms are cheap and feature antique furniture and a decent level of grandeur, four-poster anyone?
