BACARDÍ Mojito

We’re drinking Mojitos and wanting a beach party. They were first enjoyed when Sir Francis Drake and his crew drank crude rum and hid the foul taste with sugar, lime and mint. By the late 1800s “The Draque” had developed into the Mojito (“little spell” in Creole) which was helped by the creation of BACARDÍ Superior Rum, the ideal light rum for the drink. All you need is 50ml BACARDÍ Superior Rum, 4 lime wedges, 2 teaspoons of caster sugar, 12 mint leaves, 25ml soda water and a sprig of mint. Muddle the lime wedges and sugar in a glass, clap the mint leaves, rub around the rim of the glass and drop in. Half fill the glass with crushed ice, pour in the BACARDÍ Superior Rum and stir. Top up with crushed ice and add a splash of soda water. Garnish with a generous sprig of mint. Let’s go party.
