5 Cocktails To Embrace The Spring-Time Vibes

Time to do your thing, Spring

March = Spring is officially here, baby. Lighter evenings, warmer days, and the gradual ending of lockdown - we'll be embracing the lot and raising these cocktails to the end of the longest winter EVER. Hallelujah!

Mint Julep

Refreshing, light and sweet. This icy little number is the best way to submerge yourself into the new season. Use the mint picked from your garden/balcony/plant pot for extra Spring points.

You will need:

65ml bourbon (Need whiskey inspo? You'll find our faves in here)
10 mint leaves
12.5ml sugar syrup
ice - cubed and crushed

Add the mint leaves and sugar syrup to the bottom of a julep or rocks glass and give it a muddle. Not got a muddler? The end of the rolling pin will do the job. Now add all that crushed and cubed ice to the glass and add your bourbon of choice. Give it all a bit of a mix, and garnish with a mint spring. Deeeeelightful.

Parma Violet Collins

This is a cocktail that tastes like your childhood... but with an adult splash of booze.

You will need:

50ml Two Birds Parma Violet
25ml Lemon Juice
25ml Blueberry Juice
15ml Sugar Syrup
Soda Water

Get ya shaker out and add all of the ingredients (apart from the soda water and ice) and give it your best moves for 30 seconds. Now strain over ice into your highball collins glass, top with soda and get it garnished with edible petals, lavender and blueberries. What a beauty!

Cherry Bees

It ain't Spring without blossom, baby, and this sweet take on a Bees Knees is bringing all the vibes of Japan's Cherry Blossom season to your prettiest glass.

You will need:

40ml Gin
20ml Kokoro Cherry Blossom Liqueur
25ml Fresh Lemon Juice
15ml Honey

Add the lot to a shaker with plenty of ice before finely straining into a chilled coupe. Garnish with edible flowers or a fresh cherry for the full blooming effect.

Marmalade Spritz

Things are getting juicy up in here. This refreshing non-alc Spritz has British Summer Time hours written all over it. Bring on the lighter evenings, baby.

You will need:

50ml Wilfred's Non-Alcoholic Aperitif
150ml Tonic water
1 healthy teaspoon of Marmalade
Garnish with an orange wedge

Add one teaspoon of marmalade to the Wilfred's in a cocktail shaker, and give it a shake until dissolved (don't have a shaker? An empty marmalade jar is the next best thing, ya know). Strain into a large wine glass filled with ice. Add the tonic water and garnish with a wedge of orange. The perfect bittersweet aperitivo, baby.

Stepping Out

Get ready, honey, cos we're ready to break free and step out into Spring. Hell yeah! This perfect pre-soirée concoction is by Marie Piraino for St Germain, and it's ticking all our Spring boxes.

You will need:

25ml St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
25ml Bourbon
25ml fresh lemon juice
60ml ginger beer
Garnish with a sprig of thyme

Get the St-Germain, Bourbon and lemon juice in a shaker and do your best Jagger impression. Pour over ice in two rocks glasses and top with ginger beer. Pop that thyme on top and kick back in that Spring sun.
