It’s a well-known fact that BarChick is a sucker for brunch and with this place serving up the good stuff til 4pm, well it was love at first sight. Call it Marmalade or translate it into English and go with Jam, whatevs, just make sure you hit it, hard.

Floor tiles, dark red brick walls and light fittings that look like the wings of an angel make this place easy on the eye. An international crowd of hot young things descend here, plus the occasional in the know tourist.

By night this place is one of the few places in Barcelona to sell beer by the pint and sporting a decent and unconfusing cocktail list it’s straight to business here. Hit this place on a Sunday to get involved with their extraordinary brunch menu, you’ll have to queue for a table, but that’s life. We sampled endless Bloody Marys and a couple of healthy smoothies too, in the name of balance and all that. An excellent night starter, no matter what time you turn up; BarChick’s Sunday brunch soon became something of an entirely different nature…
