Its Cafe like appearance and long wooden benches create some kinda communal feel. Internazionale is one of the many bars making Mar Mikhael one of the trendiest and happening areas in Beirut. It's mega modern, with a young, friendly and usually trashed crowd. Everyone seems to know each other and shots of patron XO cafe seem to appear at tables, as if from nowhere.

A huge mural, depicting the days gone by when you could smoke on a plane takes up the back wall while, ironically, Lebanon's new smoking ban means that there's usually as many people outside as there are in. When it's super crowded, parked cars double up as makeshift tables as the Lebanese warm up for the weekend in style.

Don't feel left out if it seems that you've walked into someone's private party. This place certainly has its regulars but it's a friendly bunch who will no doubt make you feel part of the crowd pretty quickly and the cocktails ain't too shabby either.
