Stake your claim on a table in here, and eat steak. Simple. Ranelagh (BarChick says it wrong every time) is a little out of town, but The Butcher Grill is worth its weight in meat. It’s a small restaurant, with a bad ass bartender whipping up cocktails behind the counter (which you can eat on) and the kitchen is open so you can watch your steak go from fridge to pan.

Settle on a high table amongst white tiles, special cuts scribbled on the mirrors and bottles of wine stacked up to the ceiling. Kick start the evening with a Smoked Old Fashioned – it’s seriously smokey and is served with crispy bacon. Genius.

Tuck into steaks with mashed potato and bone marrow butter and French fries, or fish of the day if you want some surf with your turf. Do say hi to the cow on the way out, he knows “you only want him for his body” but he’s cool with that.
