Out in Ranelagh, just a couple minutes' cab from the city is a speakeasy without pretence. Naturally there’s no sign on the door, but it's not too hard to find and once you get up here, you're not gonna be rushing home any time soon.
The tunes are prohibition blues that get pumped up as the night goes on, and the cocktails bang on. The bar snacks, made by the Kinera Kitchen restaurant next door should win some sort of award, we’re still dreaming about those lamb balls with potato, fried to perfection and spicy as hell. Put out the flames with a Corn and Oil cocktail (Goslings Black Seal, Velvet Falernum, lime juice, sugar syrup and angostura bitters).
Take a seat at the bar for a ringside view of the magic the bartenders will conjure up in your glass. When spring/summer hits head upstairs for a BBQ on the terrace, live the dream.
