The vibe is sexy; the outside is 'purpled' out, and gold and diamond light fittings and sultry music make you want to settle in for the evening. The crowd is a mixed bag from those on business to those dolled up to the nines with fake lashes, fake tan and fake nails ready for a night on the town – you're in Liverpool after all. If the sun is shining then the outside terrace is perfect to kick back on and its dockside location is pretty peaceful. The cocktail menu is friendly and categorised by Fizz, Classics, Maisons and After Dinner, and it's incredibly easy on the eye (the print is huge so there's really no need to neglect your date).

Swinging by for a nightcap on her way to bed, BarChick ordered a Golden Dream with Liqueur 43, cream, orange juice and Pierre Ferrand Curacao, and danced happily off to bed with the sounds of the Beatles ringing in her ears.
