Time flies when you're having rum! Situated in a historical rum warehouse in the actual museum of London Docklands, this original rum and sugar store has stayed true to its roots in fine fashion. Gloriously and incongruously standing strong amongst the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf, we were greeted by the charming Sandra (de Colombia) who made sure we chose well from the 70+ rum options. Turns out the rum punch (for six!) and the mango and orange Mojito were adequate thirst quenchers for the pizza we shared, although they also serve proper food cooked by chefs in chef hats, nice. They're really going for it at Rum and Sugar; regular salsa classes, live singers and the obligatory Thursday DJ should deter most of the suits, although if a rich banker is what you're after, talk credit crunch on the cosy outside terrace.
