We wouldn’t generally advocate playing games on a date. Straight to the point is more BarChick’s style. Unless that game is Tavla. It’s Turkish for backgammon,  and there’s a board on every table. Ideal if your drinking partner runs out of chat, or for getting competitive with your crew. Just don't sink too many barrel-aged Tavla Old Fashioneds then start betting your belongings that you're gonna win.

The bar is attached to Eastern Mediterranean restaurant BARBOUN, and you’ll find those epic Levantine flavours creeping into the cocktails. We’ll be trying the smooth and silky Antep Chai - a mix of Cîroc Vodka, green matcha, pistachio syrup, lime, kefir milk and Green Chartreuse. Dreamy. Line your stomach with authentic snacks such as merguez scotch egg with zhoug yoghurt then challenge your mates to a backgammon battle royale. The soundtrack comes courtesy of a rotating roster of vinyl DJs every Thursday and Friday. Beats, booze and backgammon. Game on.
